Task 1) Read through this recipe thoroughly, at the next progress check i am looking for independent chefs

Task 2) Bring any leftovers you would like to add to this pie, below are some suggestions but feel free to ask me if there is anything else you are thinking of. REMEMBER, do not buy anything special, this is a chance to use the bits and bobs up in your fridge or cupboard

-Cheese

- Any vegetables

-Sausage

-Bacon

-Any cooked meat, leftover roast chicken add a special something to this

-Fish

PLEASE bring these straight to the kitchen with your name on as soon as you get to school

Method: Back of the fridge pie

- Pre heat the oven 200c

- Prepare all the ingredients for the filling and add to a frying pan with a small amount of oil

-Make up a jug of stock

- Sweat the filling mix until the ingredients have softened slightly

-Coat the ingredients in the frying pan with the flour and cook for 30 seconds to a minute

-Turn of the heat and add all the stock, stir until smooth, turn the heat back on and simmer until the sauce has thickened

-Roll the pastry to the thickness of a £1 coin and cut around the foil container

-Put the filling into the foil container, cover with the pastry lid

-Egg wash the pastry and bake for 15-20 minutes
